| Sumario: | Since 1885, the German Second Empire established a protectorate in East Africa. On the basis of fighting slavery and the slave trade, the Germans go into the region of the Great Lakes. In this article we discuss the adaptation of slave labour in the German East Africa and how it was justified by authors such Fritz Weidner in his book “Domestic slavery in Eastern Africa” (1915). |
