| Sumario: | From the perspective of the visual syntax approach, this article discusses aspects of plus size fashion segment, having in view the authorial consumption phenomenon. Aiming to verify the need of enhancement of the products that constitutes this market, the opportunity to provide improvements in the communicative function of fashion for these consumers will be approached. For that, fashion related studies, contemporary consumers trends and communication will be mentioned, as well as issues related to the search of an aesthetic unit established as positive incontrast to female bodies outside of the idealized standard. Thus, by emphasizing the communication skills of fashion, which seem to pass through a process of limitation when considering the difficulties of the plus size clothing consumer women to express themselves in dressing, it seeks to show that the fashion market and the plus size consumers could benefit from the improvement through development and provision of fashion products that satisfy the appearance desires of these women. |
