| Sumario: | Telecollaboration, defined as the use of online technologies in language teaching and learning between geographically dispersed students (O’DOWD, 2013a) is, according to O’Dowd (2021), relevant for the intercultural communication in the Internationalization at Home (IaH) context (BEELEN; JONES, 2015). The latter represents a more inclusive internationalization, materialized by the development of competencies, such as international, intercultural and global, within the institution itself. Considering that the process of Internationalization of the Curriculum (IoC) occurs in the light of the intercultural approach (LUNA, 2018a), a thoughtful reflection by the authors of this study concerning the degree of internationalization of the discipline English for Specific Purposes in a course at Instituto Federal Catarinense (IFC) revealed that this discipline does not include internationalization indicators grounded on the IoC theoretical contributions through the intercultural perspective. An alternative found was the implementation of three actions, involving telecollaboration by means of projects, articulated with the discipline in question. Our study, which has a qualitative approach, sought to discuss how IaH has been materialized at IFC through telecollaboration. The data analyzed were collected through experience reports and an interview. The study showed that telecollaborative activities have played a part in initial IaH processes at the institution, in the sense that there have been opportunities for the intercultural encounter and the dialogue between Brazilians and Spanish and English speakers from different countries. Furthermore, it has been possible, through such activities, to foster the discussion about cultural essentialisms, hegemonic thoughts and different issues related to contemporary societies. |
