| Sumario: | The article examines the middleization of Brazil’s young generation, analyzing their rise to the middle classes in the 21st century and the impacts of Covid-19 on their future expectations. Using PNAD and Datafolha data, multiple correspondence analysis, and clustering, we found that the 2014 economic crisis halted this ascent. We identified three clusters that elucidates how, during the pandemic, there was greater pessimism among low-capital youth and optimism among higher-capital strata, which also differ according to capital composition. The results highlight the relationship between temporal dispositions and the structural positions of agents. |
