| Sumario: | This article is the result of research on the socio-educational measure of semi-liberty aimed at adolescents who committed an infraction in Manaus, State of Amazonas, Brazil. We found a particularity in the conduct of this measure in the city, which is called “socio-educational measure of inverted semi-liberty”. In this modality, adolescents must attend school, participate in courses, attend weekly accompanied by their parents or guardians to sign the term of responsibility at the socio-educational unit and, after carrying out their daily activities, return to their homes. The motivations presented for the adoption of this measure by the professionals participating in the research are attributed to the difficulties related to the physical structure of the units and the reduced number of professionals in the teams. The article intends to point out some reflections on the inverted semi-liberty measure, highlighting the aspects of an alternative to institutionalization, the risk of bureaucratization and the need for systematic studies that can assess the effects of this practice among adolescents and their families. |
