Maps and geographic information are available today globally through the Google Earth tool. The digitization of geographic information causes “meta-navigation”, that is, the movement within a digital space mimics the movement of its representation in the real world. This article defines meta-navigation and analyzes the tools that make the Google Earth interface a favorable environment for immersion and interaction. For this, a dense reading of the Google Earth object is performed, through the analytical lents of the remediation and digitization of culture. It is argued that the interactivity of this digital space connects the movement known in the real space with the navigation in the digital space, which allows its corporeality.Com um modo de viver cada vez mais influenciado pelas mídias digitais, o comportamento humano vem sendo moldado pela lógica do computador. Considerando que a digitalização de informações geográficas e cartografias provocam o processo de transcodificação, o presente trabalho investigou a   plataforma Google Earth, analisando-a por meio do método close reading e pelas lentes analíticas da remediação, digitalização da cultura, interatividade e agência. Assim, foi possível explorar de que forma a computadorização da cartografia implica na transcodificação do espaço. Como resultado, verifica-se que os ferramentais da interface do Google Earth se manifestam como um ambiente favorável à imersão e à interação para com os usuários.
