Descripción
Sumario:This article intends to show the role played by the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo in discussions on race-based affirmative actions in higher education. First, discussions are presented based on the conception focused on initiatives to reduce racial inequalities. Then, the newspaper publications on affirmative actions in higher education are analyzed. The screening of the publications of Folha de S.Paulo showed that the newspaper, not just through its editorials, is against affirmative policies, especially those race-based. Furthermore, the analysis of the discussions presented allowed to visualize the three reactive/reactionary theses by Hirschman.
