| Resumo: | This study is part of the results obtained in the master's thesis entitled "Ethnic Identities of Young Homosexuals in Barra do Choça-BA: Family, Self-Acceptance, and 'Coming Out,'" whose analysis addressed the ethnic identity constructions of young homosexuals, tracing the path from self-acceptance to what is commonly known as "coming out." The research was conducted in the Barra Nova community, located in the municipality of Barra do Choça, Bahia. The theoretical-methodological approach and analysis are based on the oral accounts of four young individuals, using the Oral History methodology. Two moments stand out in the narratives: the discovery and the revelation of homosexuality. The results indicate that the ethnic identities of the analyzed young homosexuals are constructed through their interactions in the community, with family, and among friends, thus characterizing a process of social production. |
