Sumario:The following paper is the approach to a problem shared problem by Brazilian and Argentinian intellectuals since the latest XIX century to middle XX century. We analyze the intellectual construction of the “folk medicine” through folkloric production as a field of study by researchers from both countries. Though we present both cases paying special attention to how they explain the “popular issue” during the nationalism development and the disciplinary strengthening of the Folklore. It is important to draw attention to a wide historical documentation that requires critical analysis in order to present the different conceptions of healing and curators of Brazil and Argentina.
