Sumario: This article provides an analysis of the debate that has been taken place about the possibility of blending figurational and feminist perspectives on the study of gender and sport. In this analysis, some of the differences between feminist and figurational approaches are briefly mentioned and Elias’s ideas on involvement and detachment are presented as a possible solution to combine figurational and feminist approaches.
