| Sumario: | Suicide (Le Suicide), published in 1897, is a landmark in Sociology, as it is with this work that Émile Durkheim sets out to demonstrate how to define and investigate a social fact according to the sociological method. This article aims to revisit this emblematic book, which, over a hundred years after its publication, is still considered one of the founding themes of Sociology. While not claiming to exhaust the subject, this study provides elements for a better understanding and discussion of Durkheim's legacy, as it synthesizes one of his most powerful books, putting into perspective some of his key ideas. |
