| Summary: | Several studies have pointed out that Moreira Campos’ short story evolved to concision. In a particular way, the short story “The owls”, one of the most memorable examples of this evolution, the narrative is something magical, in the sense that Propp assigns to ancestral narratives. Symbolically, the static aspect of this short story could be associated with the thanatologist look of the owl. This symbolism suggests intertextual readings, such as the short stories with “The Raven”, with the sonnet “The Bat”, by Augusto dos Anjos, and serves as inspiration of the contemporary production of the short film, in representing its mysterious atmosphere. |
