Resumo:The Psychosocial Care Center for Children and Adolescents (Capsi), connected to SUS, has shown itself as a redirection in mental health care for children and adolescents. This study aimed to get to know and describe the service Capsi of vitória‑ES in its first year of operation, by observing the institution, getting information from patient files and interviewing professionals. 162 children and adolescents received treatment at Capsi, of which 51 remained under treatment in the first year. Among these, the most common diagnosis were: emotional and behavior disorders. Professionals working in Capsi, who had to take exams to be admitted and did not know how it worked before, highlighted the importance of what they do and pointed out the need to seek resources and training for everyday work.
