Sumario:Given the current scenario we are experiencing when a major environmental crisis threatens the lives of even humans, a teaching practice is necessary which prioritizes developing in students a reflective, critical, questioning, and investigative stance regarding the socio-environmental problems surrounding us. This article aims to analyze the contributions of an activity on Environmental Education from the perspective of Scientific Literacy using photographs as a pedagogical tool. The analysis of this activity highlighted the process of building scientific knowledge, bringing students closer to the importance and socio-environmental reality that we are experiencing
