Descripción
Sumario:This article identifies the scientific production in health surveillance in the period 1999 to 2009, using the basis of the BVS Virtual Health Library concerning to graduate in the strict sense and the Qualis System of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education – Capes referring to scientific articles indexed as surveillance and the database from the base Capes. The results were arranged in the light of the Strategic Plan for Research in Health Surveillance – VISA PEP – an instrument developed by Anvisa in 2007 to subsidize research in health surveillance. Was sought to also place the stratification system in which articles were published in health surveillance in percentage rates and compared them with the scientific journals of the total area of concentration in Public Health. The material found shows a greater concentration of articles in journals B3. Associated with this position, a growth and diversification in the thematic area, as well as the concern with research and development of the area as a producer of knowledge. However, this production compared to the scientific and technological development of the country is still unimpressive, requiring discussion and definition of policy across the National Health Surveillance System.
