| Sumario: | This article analyzes the Theater of Resistance, which predominated during the 1970s. Under these circumstances, several artists who remained in thecountry, in a legal situation, began to wage an intense political and cultural struggle. An example of this can be found in the trajectory of Teatro São Pedro, managed by Maurício and Beatriz Segall, who surrounded themselves with directors Fernando Peixoto and Gianni Ratto, playwright Carlos Queiroz Telles and actors Celso Frateschi, Denise Del Vecchio, Edson Santana, among others. This article shows how this team was able to give new meaning to the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Modern Art Week (1972). |
