Descripción
Sumario:Due to the constant debates about the difficulties of taking the classical literature to the classroom of basic education, and based on the premise of literature as a human right, there arose the interest to investigate a viable alternative — in addition to those already existing such as comics —, for the accomplishment of this work in the teaching-learning of language and literature. This qualitative article aims to discuss the schooling of the literature and to present the possibility of using the classical work Os Lusíadas in elementary school through the use of adaptation to the literature of twine. For this purpose, authors such as Alves and Marinho (2012), Calvino (1993), Candido (2011) and Soares (1999) were taken as theoretical contributions. In this way, it could be realized that living with the classics in elementary education is possible. In addition, we note that the adaptation, an appeal criticized by some authors who argue in relation to a possible impoverishment of literary works, when carried out in a way that preserves the characteristics of the adapted work, maintaining its quality, shows itself as a productive means for the realization of the contact between the students and the classic literature, thus guaranteeing the right to literature. In addition, the adaptation does not prevent later students from reading the original work, on the contrary, serves as an initial step to this practice.
