| Sumario: | The present paper aimed to analyze the perception of graduates of integrated technical courses of a Federal Institute of Education, regarding their employability. The research is descriptive, of the documentary type, and were used data from the 2020 Graduate Monitoring Survey. Then a significant number of graduates seek verticalization of studies, prioritizing entry into higher education over entry into the labor market. The theoretical foundation addresses the relationship between education and work and, more specifically, professional education and the world of work. Other than that, few graduates are working and among those who have a job, a low percentage works in their area of technical training. In addition, the graduates stated that there are few job opportunities in the area of training. Thus, there is a disconnection between the objectives of the graduates with the completion of the technical course at the institution and some objectives of the Brazilian Professional Education Policy; as well as between the offer of courses and the demands of the local and regional productive sector. |
