Sumario:The extension project “Endodontic and restorative treatment in molar teeth” was created at the beginning of 2015, to meet the need to expand this treatment within the School of Dentistry of the Federal University of Uberlândia (FOUFU). Through the analysis of the medical records of patients who were seen in the years 2015 to 2019 in the extension project, it was observed the relevance of the extension and its valorization as much as teaching and research, because it is from it that students have the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge obtained in the classroom, returning it to society. This project allowed us to know patients’ profiles, which helped the process of recognizing the situational diagnosis and for the planning process of the activities to be carried out in FOUFU clinics. The multidisciplinary service provided, in a public education institution, proved to be effective, efficient and focused on meeting social demands, corroborating the importance of health extension projects.
