Sumario:This paper aims to analyze the documentary Cabra marcado para morrer (1984), by Eduardo Coutinho, in order to convene a debate about the power of cinema and its relationship with history and politics. Therefore, the text is divided into three moments. In the first section, there is an review of the aesthetic and political project of the first filming of the narrative, which happened between 1962 and 1964 and was interrupted by the military coup of 1964. Then, the resumption of filming between 1981 and 1984 is outlined. Finally, we discuss the historical-political power of Cabra marcado para morrer (1984) by Eduardo Coutinho.
