Resumo:On informational revolution, the problem is in the excessive quantity of data. The question of how to find the requested information in a little while has been made by many researchers, including a reflection about a particular way to storage these data, on an attempt to transform them on a “live” registry, from “active” files that will constitute a “dynamic” data base to create knowledge to its user. In this sense, knowledge is said to be an object of thought appropriation. The creation of this kind of data base has been the object of analysis of a variety of different research institutes worldwide. Many of them have stated the search of an adequate heuristic as its object of study, promoting knowledge. In this present paper, we will take a look at some proposals and debates concerning data base as a cultural way of journalism. Newspapers have a versatile data base – a primary source of research for the historians –, as an example, they are essential in business world and they can generate knowledge and open new doors to many society´s sectors.
