Descrição
Resumo:The indicators of science, technology and innovation are statistical data used in the elaboration of scenarios, scenarios and trends on the scientific and technological progress of a given theme, and are very useful to subsidize decision making and public policy planning. The research aims to describe these indicators in the national and international scope. This is a bibliographical review and descriptive survey on the main Brazilian indicators of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, obtained in the portal and reports of these bodies. These indicators differ in the form of presentation of the dimensions, making analysis difficult. Therefore, national indicators need to conform to international standards so that Brazil presents a better position in the world ranking of science and competitiveness in the international market, and demonstrate that the country's performance in the area of technological innovation does not match its scientific potential.
