Sumario:In this paper we promote an epistemological problematization for information science based on a proposition made by Jonathan Furner in defense of a veritistic turn in information Science, that is, the consideration of “truth” as a central concept for the field, instead of “relevance”. The author’s arguments, based on social epistemology and epistemic injustice, are confronted with different issues related to the contemporary phenomenon of post-truth. The elements raised in the two discussions are then discussed with the reference of the paradigms and “turns” already carried out in information science, in order to assess the relevance of a possible veristic turn in the area.
