Descripción
Sumario:This article has as a starting point the question: What does it mean for the faithful lay Christian to be holy? The text intends to identify some of the main features of sanctity to which the faithful lay Christian are called in light of the Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete et Exsultate on Paul Francis’ call to holiness in today’s world, as well as to shed light on the message that the Pontiff wants to send out today for the Church with regard to the true meaning of the Christian life. The Exhortation, in the wake of Vatican II, proceeds with the revaluation of the Christian vocation with an adequate understanding of the theological character of secularity, utilizing words that have a practical impact and making the Christian message meaningful and with a real incidence on the lives of the Christian faithful and in particular of the lay people who find in their relationship with the world (secularity) the proper and specific characteristic in the People of God. The method proposed in this work will be bibliographic-analytical.
