Description
Summary:From a meeting that took place in the context of developing a study that would result in the dossier for the registration of Kilombo Família Souza as Cultural and Intangible Heritage of the municipality of Belo Horizonte, a relationship between the author and the quilombola identity perspective was formulated. Based on this recognition relationship that occurred in a technical work, questions related to the trajectory of Kilombo Souza were raised: How does a quilombo emerge? What did this trajectory and quilombola experience mean and will mean beyond the documented records in institutional archives (photographic, documentary, cartographic, personal, etc.) that necessarily speak about a response to power and violence? In this sense, the dissertation intends, through a speculative exercise, to reflect on the technical certification process of the Souza family as a quilombo descendant, its patrimonialization, and the possible developments that have emerged from this process of political appropriation of quilombo as an identity.
