Descripción
Sumario:This article has two main objectives. On the one hand, to reflect theoretically on the links between the notion of social imaginaries (mainly the ideas proposed by Cornelius Castoriadis) and digital technologies, in particular software and computer algorithms. This reflection is extremely necessary in the context of the existence of a central imaginary of contemporary capitalism: digital technologies as objective and neutral intelligence. Capitalism is constantly renewing itself. Therefore, the collective appropriation of these technologies requires elucidation of the specific conditions through which this process occurs. In addition, another of the aims of this article is to highlight the relevance of Castoriadis’ thinking and his contribution to the creation of imaginaries and projects that enable technopolitical alternatives to the commodification of life.
