| Sumario: | Endodontic treatment aims to allow the teeth to remain in function in the oral cavity, without compromising the patient's health. However, intrinsic chromatic changes are common in dental elements that are subjected to this procedure and in cases of anterior teeth these changes can cause socio-emotional problems, which have a great influence on the esthetics of the smile, and cause a great deal of discomfort, thus compromising the patient's self-esteem and well-being. The present work aimed to carry out a literature review, through bibliographic research on endogenous whitening, addressing relevant, indispensable and essential information for the positive effectiveness and clinical success of the treatment. In this context, the bleaching of devitalized teeth can be considered as an effective treatment option, as it is a conservative, fast, safe and low-cost technique in the aesthetic restoration of the dental element. |
