| Resumo: | The article proposes a critical review of European literature of mediatization, specifically the social-constructivist approach. The main goal is to highlight that research in this field has often disregarded the contradictions that permeate media- tization by idealizing the sociocultural transformations resulting from it. The central arguments of authors who approach the concept on micro, meso, and meta-level are recovered, pointing out its theoretical-methodological gaps and highlighting other fruitful investigative keys to grasping the ambivalences that cross media-saturated societies. |
