Descripción
Sumario:To review the conceptual, cultural and epidemiological aspects of the erectile dysfunction in Japan, studies on Epidemiology of ED, social-cultural aspects, behaviors and attitudes of the Japanese toward ED and sexuality were identified. The Japan has the highest life expectancy rate in the world and the ED is the most common among sexual dysfunctions. The Asian culture has many particularities affecting the masculine sexuality, and the Japanese men present a high incidence of ED. A few understand the variations in Ed prevalence among different cultures, however it’s highly associated to racial, cultural, religion and socio-economic factors. The ED presents an increasing tendency in Japan due to socio-economic, cultural, physic, and psychological aspects. More studies will be necessary in order to detect the true prevalence rate and factors implicated in ED.
