Descripción
Sumario:Anthropic interventions in the natural environment have become increasingly more intense, especially in urbanized river basins, where cities grow in an unplanned manner. Thus, urban processes affect natural hydrological behavior and degrade water resources. Intense occupation exists along the margins of the upper course of the Jaracatiá stream subbasin, situated in the municipality of Colíder, Mato Grosso. Therefore, the objective of this research was to analyze the current fluvial dynamics of the upper course of this sub-basin, perform it hydrosedimentological characterization and verify the use / occupation of the land in its margins. The methodological procedures comprised field observation, monitoring of the hydrodynamic variables and the collection and analiys of sediments (bank, bed and suspended), Results of the quantification of bed and bank sediments showed a predominance of fine sand and silt fractions during the two analyzed periods (dry season and rainy season) and problems associated with irregular urban occupation. The findings indicate that the stretch of the Jaracatiá stream analyzed in this study presents conditions of environmental degradation, and that appropriate urban planning is necessary to manage water resources.
