The research was carried out in public schools in two cities located in São Paulo state. Observations on how teachers performed their pedagogical work, from the planning of their activities to their development in class were performed. In this article we will discuss about playfulness, mentioned by teachers themselves as one of the characteristics present in English classes for children.
