Descripción
Sumario:This article debates into Raymond Williams' extensive work his intellectual experiences related to culture and university extension. It deals with texts by the author little known by the Brazilian public, mostly produced between 1946 and 1961, within an extension project between the University of Oxford and the Workers' Educational Association (WEA). For such teaching experiences, Williams drew on literature and cinema, in a sociological cleavage that can be perceived in various works by the author, such as Culture and Society, dated 1958, carried out concomitantly with this experience. Thus, it is a question of exploring a particular and little discussed aspect of Williams, which is the relationship between culture, university and extension work, trying to think about the author's possible contributions to this debate yesterday and today.
