Sumario:This work aims to make a reflection on the discursive process of production/reproduction of stereotypes about the homosexual subject transmitted through the jokes. As a corpus, texts of jokes will be analyzed whose themes portray attitudes and practices related to a “gay way of life”. The analysis will be theoretically supported by the studies of Subject and Identity in Discourse Analysis, as well as the works of Müller (2000) and Possenti (1998) on homosexuals and humor, respectively. This work does not only focus on the linguistic aspect of the joke, but its discursive social functioning. For it is in the context of the discursivity and production of the senses that the action of the humor is verified, that it appropriates the figures and models of minority representation and it gives them stigmas and stereotypes, almost always depreciative.
