Descripción
Sumario:This study propose an analysis of the webcomic Aconteceu Comigo Brazilian comic artist Laura Athayde, posted on her Instagram. The webcomic was created by Athayde from anonymous reports of women about their experiences facing various oppressions, emphasizing sexism. Stand out, for the purposes of this study, the strips that depict reports of fatphobia, beauty standards and body acceptance, health and self-esteem in relation to the body. The analysis is based on a perspective of Brazilian Fat Studies and intersectionality. We conclude that there is a legitimation of constant vigilance over fat bodies, expressed in Instagram comments, showing that the fat body is still opposite of body postivity.
