| Resumo: | This paper analyzes the 17th century writings of Buenaventura Salinas Y Cordova (born in Lima) and Miguel da Purificacao (born in Portuguese India), in defense of Spanish and Portuguese descendants born overseas, based on the supposed nobility of their ancestors , besides loyalty to the Crown and to Catholicism. The analysis demonstrates the similarity of their arguments and appropriations of the Iberian Peninsula blood purity concept in America and Portuguese India. |
