This meter within the Portuguese poetic tradition seems to us, alongside the classical decasyllable verse, the most appropriate to translate the Greco-Latin hexametric poetry present in Virgil’s bucolic poems, due to its extension and great rhythmic variety, which we seek to explore in our article. |
