Descripción
Sumario:The essay analyzes the importance of the educator Paulo Freire and the relevance of his main work, Pedagogy of the Oppressed. It highlights the overlap between the construction of the work and the weaving of the educator's life in defense of a liberating education. It emphasizes the originality of Freire's work as a handmade text, originet from the orality and its praxis but, at the same time, a classic, that maintains its pedagogical effectiveness throughout the years. Without wishing to underestimate the many criticisms on the part of those who consider it a minor work, the conception of this essay is that the simplicity of Freire’s work has not prevented it from being considered one of the most important Pedagogy works of all time. The recognition of his contribution in the educational field can be attested by the impact it has produced in the research and development of numerous pedagogical initiatives guided by his principles.
