Sumario:  Introduction: glaucoma incidents has not shown the direct relationship with sedentary lifestyles. However, the high Intraocular pressure is the main factor for the development of glaucoma. In contrast, practitioners of physical exercise individuals present levels in IOP lower than the parameter set by the Brazilian Society Glaucoma (21 mmHg). Objective: This study was to review the influence of regular physical exercise, observing the acute and chronic effects on Intraocular Pressure (IOP). Methods: A literature review was conducted through the following bases Pubmed, Bireme and Scielo articles in international and national journals. Literature review: there is a shortage of publications on the association between glaucoma incident and exercise. However, the findings have shown a decrease in IOP in both exercises with aerobic characteristics, where is most publications, as the anaerobic exercises with several recent research pointing out the various mechanisms presented in a diagram displayed in this review study. Conclusion: Most studies have pointed to the hipontesives effect on intraocular pressure in exercises with anaerobic and aerobic characteristics.
