| Sumario: | Nature conservation agendas are widely spread throughout the world today. However, the formulation of public policies which promote conservation in protected areas, dates from the Eighteenth Century (URTEAGA, 1987), and still influence contemporary conservation strategies. In this article we briefly reflect on this influence in public policies of nature conservation in Brazil. Finally, we treat a case study of biodiversity conservation strategies and territorial conflicts in the Ilha Grande State Park. |
