Sumario:Diplomatic addresses can be understood as a political act par excellence in international political communication. Assuming this as a presupposition, the article presents Brazil´s positioning regarding the former president Dilma Rousseff (PT), in the UN General Assembly between 2014 and 2017. A Content Analysis was the methodology carried out to verify the following hypotheses: (H1) Rousseff structured her speeches as a means to garner support from the international community, and (H2) Temer approached the process of impeachment as something natural to the democratic game. The results refuted the first and confirmed the second hypothesis.
