Sumario:Although sexuality is a part of life for human being, for some, its expression is restricted. Therefore, the sociocultural perspective regarding impairment impacts the sexual-affective life of these people, with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) being considered an impairment by Law nº 12.764. This research aimed to explicit and question this sociocultural concept, its implications and discuss common particularities in people with ASD that may affect their sexual expression. This integrative review searched studies fully available at databases: Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações and PubMed, in portuguese and english, published between 2009 and 2024, which resulted in the Analysis Units: infantilization of people with ASD, beliefs surrounding the sexuality of individuals with ASD, modifications on the social perspective of ASD and consequences on the sexual expression inside the spectrum, common aspects for ASD and characteristics of sociocultural context that affects sexuality. In conclusion, difficulties faced by these people in sexual-affective experience and possible health risks can be reduced through appropriate sex education and social change regarding impairment, via scientific knowledge spread, assuring free expression of sexuality.
