| Sumario: | This study aims at analyzing, in the context of contemporary theatre, the visual dramaturgy, the “theatre of image” of the American director Robert Wilson, through the stagings of “The lady of the sea”, at SESC Pinheiros, in 2013, and of “Shakespeare Sonnets’, at Berliner Ensemble, in 2009. Thus, the use of space, scenery and props, light, sound and music and actor’s movement are highlighted, in detriment of the textual aspect. For analysis purposes, there is, initially, an attempt to discuss the concepts of post-dramatic, coined by Lehmann, and of performativity, by Fischer-Lichte and Féral, in order to understand Wilson’s theatrical aesthetics. Writings about Wilson’s theatre by Shevtsova and Sánchez are also used for the analysis of the visual dramaturgy of the plays studied. |
