Furthermore, we aim at tracking both the permanent and changing aspects of the biographical genre, throughout these decades, its similarities with the academic and fictional writings as well as the contacts and interchanges of these two fields of knowledge.O principal objetivo deste trabalho é analisar as produções do gênero biográfico sobre Getúlio Vargas, escritas entre os anos de 1939 e 1988. Nessa análise, objetiva-se identificar as imagens construídas de Getúlio Vargas, pelos autores das oito biografias selecionadas. Além disso, deseja-se perceber as relações existentes entre as biografias, a discussão historiográfica e as tensões do contexto no qual essas obras foram publicadas.
