Descripción
Sumario:This article presents an excerpt from a Master's research project in Education, carried out with a group of 15 children - 10 boys and 5 girls, aged between four and five, in which masculinities were investigated as social practices from the perspective of boys in Early Childhood Education and brings together reports and records of episodes in which the boys transgress gender boundaries and live a masculinity that differs from the hegemonically known and socially imposed standards, making choices that, for many, can be considered deviant. Using theoretical references from the Sociology of Childhood and a qualitative methodology that used participant observation, the study shows that there are social practices that stabilize and destabilize relations and that boys are trapped in the stereotypes and casts that the binary view carries. Some of them, however, take deviant positions and live a healthier masculinity.
