Descrição
Resumo:The project "Pattern of Settlement and Pre-Hispanic Population in the Lower Basin of Papaloapan, Ver." (PAYPPCUBAPA) is the first of archaeological characteristics to study this region called El Bajo Papaloapan, the lowest sector of the tributary of the same name. From the beginning, archaeological remains were found in the surface works and later 2X2 m units were excavated in each of the identified and mapped sites to have stratigraphic columns and a possible chronology of the area. The chronological spectrum is wide as well as the variety of archaeological materials. It is an area fully identified by its buildings made of mud with a total absence of stone or slabs to cover them. The same happens with its materials for daily use and rituals, the stone becomes a highly appreciated resource, there is an example of the wide trade by recognizing raw material from two coasts to the E. The Gulf of Mexico-Atlantic Ocean and to the W the Pacific Ocean.
