| Sumario: | Introduction: one of the main characteristics of pregnancy is the several physiological changes that the body goes through in a short period of time, making women have different understandings of themselves. The ideal of the perfect body often interferes directly on the body image and perception, causing a negative impact on a once in a lifetime moment. However, exercising is explored as beneficial, considering the physiological and psychological changes that happen due to the pregnancy. Objective: review and analyze the integrative literature to check if there are changes on the body image and perception during the gestation period, as to describe the impact of the exercises to these possible changes. Methodology: since it is a review of the integrative literature there was a research on the PEDro and PubMed data base, using the describers: Body Image, Perception, Exercises, Pregnant Women, Pregnant. Results: 13 articles that fit the idealized proposals were found. These authors agreed that the exercises to pregnants are extremely important, reducing the changes that are connected to the body image and perception. Although, all the physiological and psycosocial changes shall be praised and never stop assisting and receing these people. Conclusion: it is concluded that there is change on the body image and self-perception throughout the pregnancy, having effect on the life quality and welfare. Thus it is extremely important to exercise on this period in order to decrease the impacts and improve the self-esteem, acceptance, and boy image of these women. |
