Sumario:The article proposes a historical review of the Republic of Turkey, established in 1923. It deals initially with the formative years of Atatürk, and then presents the complexity of the period from 1938 to 2002 and the various military coups that then occurred. At the end, the focus is on the period of domination of the AKP party, with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as prime minister and, afterwards, as president.
