| Sumario: | This transversal, quantitative and descriptive study aimed to compare the motor performance and as anthropometric characteristics of young people in different maturational stages. Participants were 74 male students, between 11 and 15 years of age, attending a sports initiation program in futsal. The Tanner test was used as the reference standard for classifying the stage of sexual development. For a collection of information regarding somatic growth and physical fitness treasury, they are used to test the Brazilian Sport Project (PROESP-BR) (Gaya, 2001). As anthropometric characteristics analyzed were: height, body mass and body mass index. Regarding motor performance performed with inferior force tests, speed, flexibility, agility and abdominal resistance. The tests were applied in a private school in Porto Alegre. For the statistical treatment of the information, a descriptive analysis of the data was performed through calculation of mean, frequency and percentage. As the analyzes were performed, no software "SSPS 20.0" and the level of significance was adopted 5%. It was concluded that the young people who are found in the maturational stages 4 and 5 presented a higher body mass and stature in relation to young people of stages 2 and 3, but did not present significant solutions in the majority of comparisons between motor performance variables. An exception was as a jump-to-distance variable where the format between stages 3 and 4 were significant, even when body mass index was isolated. |
