Sumario:ObjectiveThis study aimed to investigate approaches, strategies, and relevant variables researched inthe Brazilian context regarding spousal aggressors, as well as the therapeutic practices usedand their impacts.MethodA total of 31 studies were retrieved from the Lilacs database (n = 25), SciELO database (n = 5),and PePsic (n = 1). After excluding duplicates and studies not related to batterers, 9 studiesmet the inclusion criteria and were included in the analysis.ResultsThese articles were analyzed and grouped according to their themes, resulting in five categories:cognitive-behavioral therapy groups; reflective groups on gender stereotypes; culturaldeterminants; jealousy, anxiety, and alcohol consumption; and parenting practices.ConclusionThe review observed theoretical divergences and a dispersion of knowledge on the topic acrossdifferent areas, which can hinder the planning and standardization of interventions for intimatepartner aggressors. Additionally, there is a scarcity of research on the topic within the Braziliancontext, which may contribute to the current dispersion of knowledge.
