Resumo:The process of economic internationalization occurred in the last decades of the twentieth century has brought structural changes in the production forms, international relations and new theoretical discussions about the impact of these changes on the role of the State and territory. In this sense, the central objective of this article is committed to the theoretical examination of the existing relations between the globalization process - understood as economic internationalization -, and the territorial materialization of the structures of power, demystifying the dominant conception that insists on the construction of a deterritorialized world and an unimportant State despite the reality that shows distant aspects of the theory trends.
